American 16 year old Abby Sutherland stranded on Australian waters rescued and safe with the help of a Chemring Australia Product.
16 year old American, Abby Sutherland attempted to leave for a world record journey on Saturday January 23rd 2010 to be the youngest person to complete a nonstop, un assisted solo-circumnavigation of the globe by sea. Her plight ended as she was stranded in the Southern Ocean, where her emergency beacon, the ‘Pains Wessex – Precision 406/GPS EPIRB’ was activated.
On the first day Abby Sutherland was stranded Australia’s rescue agency chartered a jet to fly over the area where her ‘EPIRB’ was activated.
On the Second day after locating her, the agency sent another plane to coordinate her pickup by ships racing toward her damaged and drifting yacht.
