Chaff Cartridge with Inner Liner (CH 7/92)
Description
The Chaff Cartridge is provided for use in aircraft countermeasure systems to combat radar guided missiles and tracking systems. The cartridges can be housed in a multiple shot dispenser. The Chemring Countermeasures Cartridge Chaff AN/ALE-40 is a direct fit, form and function replacement for those of USA origin (RR170). The chaff cuts of the CH 7/92 are optimised to provide a broad-band radar return signal but the radar cross section profile can be manipulated by incorporating differing chaff cuts to meet the demands of specific end user requirements. An Inner Liner is included to assist the chaff, on ejection, through the boundary layer of the aircraft. The Cartridge Chaff AN/ALE-40 is fully compatible with all dispensing systems utilising magazines configured for 1"x1" payloads including AN/ALE 40, 45 and 47 series, M130/M147, Terma, Rokar, ADDS, MES, ECDS, SAAB Avitronics, MBDA, Saphir, and Thales systems for example.
