Description
The RF Modular Expendable Block (MEB) Mini forms part of a defensive aids system to protect a host aircraft from Radar guided missile threats by providing an expendable chaff payload as a suitable alternative target or ‘decoy’ to the tracking radar. The RF MEB Mini has been developed to provide additional ‘shots’ in the same magazine space giving greater flexibility and an enhanced operational capability.
The MEB Mini is a glass-filled nylon block which is interfaced to the dispenser firing system through an Interface Plate which routes the firing pulse to the appropriate cell. The chaff payload is pyrotechnically ejected using the PW11 MK2a Impulse Cartridge. Each MEB Mini contains 8 decoys and 8 off the RF MEB Mini make up a full dispenser load.
The RF MEB Mini is used with the Thales dispenser, which employs digital dispensing techniques.
