With long-term contracts in place, Chemring Australia is the leading supplier of 40mm grenade ammunition to the Australian Defence Force. With access to advanced technologies in proximity fusing, energetic materials, warhead design and propulsion via Chemring Group companies.
Chemring has in-house facilities for propellant manufacture, explosive loading, and integration lines for ammunition and rockets and assembly and testing of mechanical and electronic fuses.
Chemring is also a specialist manufacturer of medium and large calibre ammunition (20 to 203mm for various models of conventional and new generation weapon systems), rockets and illumination mortar rounds for a substantial number of NATO and non-NATO armed forces.
We are the leading manufacturer of naval ammunition and advanced fusing in 40mm, 76mm and 127mm calibres.
Munitions may stay in stock with end users for significant periods of time. Therefore Chemring provides a whole of life munitions solutions. We conduct in-service surveillance and life predictions. Where necessary utilising Chemring’s test capabilities to assess the state of aging products. Chemring’s demilitarisation facilities have the capability for demilitarisation of time expired munitions. Rounds are dismantled and the energetic material disposed of in safe and environmentally sound manor.
