Description

The MJU-51/B was developed by the USAF ASTE program and is designed to defend modern higher signature fighters and transports against the latest generation MANPAD and air-to-air missile threats world wide. The MJU-51/B utilizes Special Material, Alloy Surfaces’ proprietary patented technology, to emit IR energy in the same band as an aircraft. The MJU-51/B is manufactured in a 2”x1”x8” (MJU-7) form factor and can be employed using the ALE-4X series or any Countermeasures Dispensing System capable of employing 2”x1”x8” flares. The MJU-51/B is virtually unobservable to the naked eye in both daylight and night time conditions. It contains no pyrotechnics other than a BBU-35B squib required to expel the SMD from the flare casing. Once expelled the SMD reacts with oxygen to rapidly oxidize and generate an IR signature. However, the temperature is less than half the temperature of conventional MTV and SMD is extremely safe to handle.

The MJU-49/B decoy is a Special Material Decoy (SMD) Pyrophoric Infrared (IR) Countermeasure developed and manufactured for the United States Navy. It is designed to defend helicopters and jet aircraft from MANPAD and air-air missile threats worldwide. The MJU-49/B utilizes Special Material, Alloy Surfaces’ proprietary patented technology, to emit IR energy in the same band as an aircraft. The MJU-49/B is manufactured in a round 36-mm standard from factor and can be employed using the ALE-39 series or any countermeasure dispensing system capable of employing a round 36-mm flare. It contains no pyrotechnics other than a CCU-63 squib required to expel the SMD from the flare casing. Once expelled, the SMD reacts with oxygen to rapidly oxidize and generate an IR signature. However, the temperature is less than half the temperature of conventional MTV and SMD is extremely safe to handle.

THE MJU-50/B is a Special Material Decoy (SMD) Pyrophoric Infrared (IR) Countermeasure developed and manufactured for the United States Air Force Advanced Strategic and Tactical Expendables (ASTE) program by Alloy Surfaces Co., Inc. Designed to counter advanced threats surface-to-air and air-to-air IR guided missiles, the MJU-50/B utilizes Alloy Surfaces proprietary patented technology to emit IR energy in the same band as the aircraft and is designed to protect lower signature fighters, transports and helicopters. Virtually unobservable to the naked eye in both daylight and night time conditions, the MJU-50/B can be carried in the ALE-4X series, and all other dispenser systems capable of employing 1”x1”x8” (M206 series) IR Countermeasures. It contains no pyrotechnics other than a BBU-35b squib required to expel the SMD from the flare casing. Once expelled the SMD reacts with oxygen to rapidly oxidize and generate an IR signature. However, the temperature is less than half the temperature of conventional MTV and SMD is extremely safe to handle.

The MJU-27A/B is manufactured in a round 36-mm standard form factor and can be employed using the ALE-39 series or any countermeasures dispensing system capable of employing a round 36-mm flare. It contains no pyrotechnics other than a CCU-63 squib required to expel the SMD from the flare casing. Once expelled, the SMD reacts with oxygen to rapidly oxidize and generate an IR signature. However, the temperature is less than half the temperature of conventional MTV and SMD is extremely safe to handle.

Description

The MJU-52/B was developed by the United States Naval Surfaces Warfare Center to offer preemptive protection to fast jet fighters and fighter bombers against advanced MANPAD and air-to-air missile threats worldwide. The MJU-52/B utilizes Special Material, Alloy Surfaces’ proprietary patented technology to emit IR energy to decoy missiles. It is manufactured in plastic trays and is deployed upon command with an electrical impulse to initiate a mechanical dispenser. The MJU-52/B can be ejected from any Bol Dispenser Series. It requires no pyrotechnics to expel this Special Material and is virtually unobservable to the naked eye. The temperature is considerably less than the temperature of conventional MTV and SMD is extremely safe to handle.

M211

Description

The M211 Decoy was developed for the United States Army under the Suite of Integrated Infrared Countermeasures (SIIRCM) Program to protect Army Helicopters against Man Portable Air Defense systems (MANPAD) and air-to-air missile threats worldwide. The M211 utilizes Special Material (SM), Alloy Surfaces’ proprietary patented technology, to emit IR energy to decoy missiles. The M211 can be used in conjunction with other advanced decoys for a more robust cocktail solution against advanced missiles. The M211 may be employed from the ALE-4X Series dispensers as well as advanced dispensers capable of carrying 1x1x8 decoys. It contains no pyrotechnics other than a BBU-35B or M796 impulse cartridge required to expel the SM from the flare casing. Once expelled the SM reacts with oxygen to rapidly oxidize and generate an IR signature. However, the temperature in considerably lower than MTV and SM is extremely safe to handle.
